Chevy Volt: production version official pics
Well, GM has finally lifted the wraps on their highly-anticipated Volt plugin hybrid car. Its appearance has been changed fairly drastically from the concept, mostly because the concept version was about as aerodynamic as barn door. The production version is a lot less dramatic, featuring more conventional styling. That being said, I find the Volt to be quite good looking, with modern, clean lines and some nice detailing.
Interior and exterior pics after the jump.

The vehicle is designed to run purely on electricity from on-board batteries for up to 64 km - a large enough distance to cover most people’s daily commutes. With the use of a small internal combustion engine driving a generator to resupply the batteries, the vehicle’s range is potentially increased to 579 km on the highway. This can obviously be extended for very long trips by conventional refueling.
Apparently, GM has no plans to bring the Volt so South Africa, dammit.
