Natural gas powered Porsche 356 replica - nice!

If you want classic car styling, modern sports car performance and supermini-beating CO2 emissions there’s really no reason to consider anything but the PGO Cevennes.

German automaker PGO has basically just dropped a 1.6 litre natural gas powered engine into a beautifully detailed Porsche 356 replica body, resulting in a quick, agile and environmentally friendly ride.

While its 208km/h top speed isn’t much to write home about, the Cevennes is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in an Impreza WRX beating 6.5 seconds. It uses about 4.5kg of gas per 100km, giving it a range of around 450km. CO2 emissions are a respectable 118g/km.

They’re available for about $70 000.00 in Germany and they will not be available in South Africa, which is a pity, because I could have filled it up off my natural gas mains line at home.

This is a seriously pretty interpretation of the original! *DROOL*

Wow thats a real beauty, I have always had a thing for old Porsches, pity we won’t be seeing any in SA.

Very neat,
I own a 356 and would consider the same in time to come
