Porsche Panamera: Hybrid confirmed

Porsche’s upcoming sports saloon, the Panamera is set to feature a hybrid in the model line-up. Details are a bit vague right now, but from what I’ve managed to find out, the car will feature a 3.6l V8 petrol engine and a 38kW electric motor in a parallel configuration. Batteries will be housed in the boot. Batteries will be housed under the boot.

According to Porsche, the car will be able to run in electric only, petrol only or combined modes. Fuel consumption is expected to be about 30% less than its more conventional siblings. Factor this in with the fact that the Panamera can seat for people, and it starts looking a lot greener than your typical car from Zuffenhausen. Just remember, future Panamera owners: try and actually have four people in the car as much as possible for maximum greenness.

The only official image of the Panamera is one design sketch shown above, but a couple of test mules have already been spied on the roads.
